May's Anatomy with May Yazdi

Jul 27, 2020

Today’s episode is a very raw and real conversation around suicide. Healthcare professionals and practitioners should take extra care to educate themselves on the topic of suicide and understand the warning signs that may present in patients. Family members, loved ones, and caregivers should be knowledgeable on resources available for those who struggle with suicidal ideation as well as resources for family members. In this episode we discuss national statistics, risk factors, warning signs, and protective factors at the individual level. I personally want to dedicate this episode to my uncle Farshid and all those who have lost their lives to suicide, those experiencing suicidal ideation, as well as their loved ones. All information in the episode is provided by the Mental Health Services Oversight & Accountability Commission.
